For years, I was sceptical of psychics and mediums, often trying to explain away dreams, visions, or voices as mere coincidences. It wasn't until my own experiences changed my perspective that I began to believe these encounters were real. I've been working as a psychic medium, specialising in evidential mediumship, for over four years now. This approach focuses on providing specific, verifiable information.
Recently, the loss of loved ones reminded me how challenging it can be to connect during grief. In December, my favourite uncle passed away, and just a few weeks ago, in April, we lost my dear father-in-law. Grief can make it difficult to feel their presence, but through acceptance, I've found it easier to connect with them. It takes time and practice, but the comfort and guidance they offer are worth it. Insights on the Afterlife Being a psychic medium doesn’t make me immune to grief. However, I find immense comfort in knowing that there is life after death. Some of the most profound lessons I’ve learned have come from my own loved ones who have communicated with me from the other side. Messages through dreams: My mum's brother, Uncle Gary (my favourite), after his passing came to me in a dream. He was dancing, looking happy and free, which brought me comfort. I felt the presence of many spirits at his funeral, including my Nan and Pop. I asked them what they were doing there, and they explained that they were learning about the impact of Uncle Gary’s life. They conveyed that every action, from raising children to being a good friend, and even a simple smile to a stranger on the street, was acknowledged as a form of impact. Connection through meditation: A few years ago involved my uncle Paul, who was mentally impaired from birth and lived in England. I had only met him a few times in my life, so I was surprised when he visited me during a meditation. He appeared completely healed, wearing a suit, and wanted to let me know that he was doing well and was looking out for me. When I asked my dad why his brother would show up in a suit, he explained that Uncle Paul always loved wearing suits. This detail, which I had no prior knowledge of, reinforced the truth of the connection. Connection through conversation: The recent passing of my husband’s father was a massive shock to us all. I immediately tried to contact him but was told he was busy catching up with his late wife, mother, father and sister. He needed time in what I understood to be a sort of retreat to adjust to his new state. After almost a week, he communicated with me, jokingly saying, “Who’d have thought I’d be speaking to you like this?” His humour came through straight away, this provided much comfort to my husband and myself. Connecting with the spirit world are like speaking another language. Each of us has our own communication strengths. For me, I can hear, see, and sense the messages. These experiences continually remind me of the profound connections that transcend physical existence and provide solace in times of grief. Today, I want to share a story with you – a story that, while ancient, carries timeless wisdom about the journey of growth, choice, and the freedom to be our true selves.
Once upon a time, in a garden so lush and vast that it seemed like a slice of heaven itself, there lived the first humans, Adam and Eve. This paradise, called Eden, was a wonderland – with trees that whispered secrets, flowers that sang in the breeze, and animals of every kind living in peace. At the heart of Eden stood a very curious tree, known as the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God, who was like a parent to Adam and Eve, shared with them the bounty of this magical garden. She said, "You can enjoy everything here. But that tree in the middle? Its fruit is a bit different. Best to leave that be." It wasn’t a command to test their obedience but an invitation to explore the depths of their free will – a gift She deeply cherished. Like curious children in the world’s most enchanting sweet shop, Adam and Eve were drawn to the one thing they were advised to avoid. And when they tasted the fruit, their eyes were opened to the complexity of the world, marking the beginning of a journey filled with choices, mistakes, and growth. What followed was not a story of disobedience but one of learning to embrace our choices, understand their impact, and navigate the beautiful messiness of being human. It’s about how we deal with our decisions, own up to them, and move forward with a heart full of love and eyes wide open to the wonders around us. This ancient narrative invites us to see our own lives reflected in the garden of Eden – a place where every choice we make contributes to our journey of growth and self-discovery. It’s a reminder that we’re not expected to be perfect but to be brave, to make choices that reflect our true selves, and to learn from them with grace. In everyday life, it's easy to overlook the impact of the small choices we make, from opting for a morning walk to deciding what to have for lunch or catching up with a friend. Recognising that every decision, big or small, empowers us is key, especially when facing larger challenges. By being more mindful of our choices, we gain control over our lives, enhancing our confidence and clarity for bigger decisions. Here are three practical steps to help you become more aware of your daily choices: Start a Choice Diary: Take a moment at the end of each day to write down your decisions, no matter how minor they seem. This can help reinforce your sense of autonomy and prepare you for more significant choices. Watch Your Words: Notice when you're about to assign blame or obligation, such as saying "I have to," and instead, acknowledge your power of choice by saying "I choose to" or "I want to." This shift helps us take responsibility for our decisions and actions, rather than placing blame or feeling obligated." Set Small Intentions: Each morning, set a few simple intentions for the day. This practice helps remind you of your control over your day, building confidence for bigger challenges. In the spirit of exploring the divine, let's recognise the power in our choices, big and small, giving us the freedom to shape our lives just the way we want. By embracing this freedom, life takes on a whole new meaning, full of purpose and direction. Let's make intentional choices that lead us where we truly want to go. Divine Style Podcast on Spotify Divine Style Podcast on Apple Podcasts Growing up under the guidance of my deeply Christian mother, I was immersed in a world where belief in the unseen was as natural as breathing – a realm of God, Jesus, and angels. Alongside these teachings, my mother entrusted me with the knowledge of her secret gift, a skill kept hidden due to the church's disapproval: psychometry. She taught me to listen to the silent stories that inanimate objects like a ring or a photograph could tell, showing me how to use my psychic senses to receive messages. She believed, as do I, that the ability to perceive beyond the physical senses is not unique to a chosen few. Indeed, we all possess this innate potential; it simply requires practice and the tranquility of a meditative mind to unlock it. These senses, while appearing extraordinary, are not beyond the scope of our natural capabilities. They are, in truth, enhanced versions of our everyday experiences – sharpened, focused, and deepened through intent and practice, much like the fine-tuning of an instrument. Meditation serves as a key tool in this tuning process, quieting the mind's chatter to allow the subtler frequencies of intuition and insight to emerge. Understanding Psychic Senses
The realm of psychic senses, or 'clair' abilities, is a fascinating and often misunderstood area of human potential. While these senses may seem extraordinary or even supernatural to some, it's important to recognise that they are extensions of the normal human senses, amplified and honed through various means, including meditation. Clairsentience: The Emotional Compass Clairsentience is one of the most common psychic senses, rooted deeply in our instinctual nature. It's our inner feeling centre that often acts as a survival mechanism, alerting us to potential danger or promising opportunities. This intuitive feeling manifests as gut reactions to certain situations or people. Clairsentience can be honed through mindfulness and by paying close attention to these gut feelings as they arise. Clairvoyance: Visions Beyond Sight Clairvoyance, or clear seeing, involves the ability to perceive visions beyond what the physical eyes can see. This may include seeing colours, images, or even entire scenes unfolding in the mind's eye, often associated with the 'third eye' chakra located in the centre of the forehead. Practising visualisation during meditation can strengthen this ability, allowing one to receive messages or insights in the form of mental imagery. Clairempathy: The Emotional Mirror Those with clairempathy possess a heightened ability to feel the emotions of others around them. This can be both a gift and a challenge, as it involves sensing and, sometimes, taking on the mood of those in close proximity. It's crucial for individuals with this sense to learn discernment and protective techniques through meditation and grounding exercises to distinguish between their own emotions and those of others. Clairgustance: Tastes from Beyond Clairgustance is a rarer psychic sense involving the perception of taste without physical contact. It is often reported during readings or spiritual communications, with the medium tasting a specific food that is significant to the spirit or the recipient of the message. Meditation focusing on the senses can enhance this form of psychic perception. Clairalience: The Scent of Spirit Similarly, clairalience or 'clair-smelliance' is the psychic sense of smell. This can manifest as detecting fragrances associated with a deceased loved one or significant places without any physical source. Training the mind to become more aware of and receptive to such experiences through contemplative practices can sharpen this sense. Claircognizance: Intuitive Knowing Claircognizance, or clear knowing, is a sense where one simply 'knows' something to be true without knowing how or why. This can pertain to events yet to occur or understanding complex situations without having all the data. Developing this sense typically involves enhancing one's connection to the universal consciousness through deep meditation and trust in one's intuitive insights. Clairtangency: Psychometric Insights Clairtangency, or psychometry, is the ability to receive information about a person or an object through touch. Practitioners may receive images, sounds, or emotions related to the object or its owner. Sensitising oneself to the energetic imprints objects carry can be developed through practices such as holding objects during meditation to see what insights arise. Clairaudience: Hearing the Unheard Finally, clairaudience entails hearing messages from the spirit world. This might sound like words or music that no one else can hear, often perceived as an internal auditory experience. Meditation with a focus on opening the ear chakras and clearing the mind of chatter can help in recognising and interpreting these subtle messages. Using Meditation to Tune In Meditation is a powerful tool for developing psychic senses. It helps quiet the mind, allowing the subtler senses to become more apparent. By sitting in silence, focusing on the breath, and setting the intention to open up to these expanded ways of sensing, individuals can begin to cultivate their psychic abilities. Over time, with patience and practice, it's possible to develop a keen awareness of these senses and integrate them into daily life for personal guidance and the benefit of others. It's important to approach the development of psychic senses with a sense of balance and grounding. Incorporating these practices into one's life should be done responsibly and ethically, with a focus on the greater good and personal well-being.
