Get Revenge By Looking Good

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition of revenge is to avenge (as oneself) usually by retaliating in kind or degree. Don’t get mad get even! Revenge can be destructive or constructive. I believe the best way to get back at someone is to be happy and to feel good about yourself. One of the first things many people do after a break up is start working out. Because everyone knows that when you look good you feel good.

There are many things you can do to improve your state of mind. You can get a new hobby, new friendship group, new hairstyle, new makeup, a new dress or all of these! When you see the person who has done you wrong and you are happy and confident, they will realise they messed with the wrong person! After all you are awesome!

There are many situations when fashion retaliation is the supreme pay back.

Imagine these scenarios…  You’re going to a party and you know Steve will be there, you’ve been on a few dates but he suddenly stopped calling, you want him to see you looking amazing so he regrets that decision. You are headed to a high school reunion and Tom the toss will be there, you haven’t seen Tom for 20 years. He dumped you for Kylie in Grade 12. Even though you are now happily married with 3 children you want him to know he missed out on the catch of the century! You are attending a family gathering that your ex is also invited to and he’s bringing his new partner. Instead of declining, go and ensure you look better than ever!

It’s not always an ex that deserves fashion retaliation. It could be a family member, business competitor or a co-worker who makes your life hell.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. You need time to plan your revenge so the person doesn’t know what hit them, and I don’t mean with a plank of wood. This is also not the time to do anything too drastic, like shave your head. Unless you know you look great bald.

Do’s and Don’ts of fashion retaliation

Don’t be overly sexy; this is not about finding a skimpy figure hugging number.
Do keep it classy, leave something to the imagination. Legs or boobs but not both!

Don’t be a fashion tragic; forget the latest trends, crop tops are not for everyone!
Do revamp your wardrobe to suit your colours, body shape and personality. If you are unsure of what suits you see a personal stylist.

Don’t cut off all your hair, this is a mistake many women make! Extensions are expensive if you change your mind.
Do keep an eye out for new cut and colour options and discuss them with your hairdresser. Be patient, if you’re hair is dark and you want to go lighter it might take a few trips to the hairdresser to get the colour right.

Don’t buy a heap of new makeup. Just because purple eye shadow is the latest craze it doesn’t mean it will suit your eyes.
Do go to a makeup artist and discuss colours and application techniques that will suit your skin tone, eye colour and face shape.

Remember looking and feeling great about yourself is the ultimate revenge. I hope that those who have done you wrong get their just desserts!
