Have you been racing around trying to find an outfit for the Spring Racing Carnival? Many women find the prospect of looking for a racewear outfit overwhelming. For a stress free experience follow these tips!

Money matters
It can cost anywhere from $150 - $500 (sometimes more, especially if you’re a diehard fashions of the field racegoer). Set a budget for yourself, how much do you want to spend on a your whole outfit? Factor in a fascinator; these can sometimes cost more than your dress! Don’t forget to include accessories like earrings, a clutch and shoes.

Get off to a great start
Many people make the mistake of choosing a fascinator or pair of shoes before they’ve chosen their dress. Always start with your clothing, whether it’s a dress or top and skirt, base the rest of your outfit around it.

Mix it up
Wearing one colour head to toe is overkill (unless it’s a neutral like white), instead mix colour with colour. For instance if you have chosen a pink dress, wear floral shoes and a mint clutch.  Or if you have a floral dress, pick one colour from the print for the fascinator and a different one for your clutch.

Put your best foot forward
Shoes can make or break an outfit; spring racing is a great opportunity to embrace the vibrant colours of the season. If you are struggling to find a pair of heels to match your outfit, go for a nude colour these match everything. Remember to choose a comfy pair, there is nothing more unflattering than leaving barefoot with your heels in hand.

In it to win it
A winning racewear outfit is a combination of classic styles and key trends from the season. This year there will be a massive variety of fashions including lace, pastels, floral, stripes, yellow, blue, pink and timeless black and white. If you are planning to enter Fashions Of The Field avoid wearing; strapless dresses, midriff showing styles and hemlines that are too short.

Go out in style
Remember the day is about having fun with friends, try not to stress too much about your outfit. Enjoy the process of finding the perfect clutch to compliment your outfit. Look for pieces that suit you, your personality and most importantly make you feel fabulous!
