Did you know the colours you wear are a powerful tool to influence your mood and the moods of those around you?
Interestingly colours can have dramatically different meanings and effects based on culture and personal experience. For example, green in Western culture is related to nature, spring, new birth, regeneration, good luck, go, environmental awareness, money, jealousy, greed, Saint Patrick's Day. In Eastern culture green is associated with eternity, new life, regeneration, family, health, prosperity, peace. Throughout Europe green is connected to nature, fertility, confidence, jealousy, inexperience. In the Middle East green represents, Islam, spirituality, peace, strength, fertility, luck, wealth, prestige. With personal experience sometimes we avoid certain colours that we've been forced to wear such as a bottle green in a school or pastel blue for a work uniform. When it comes to choosing colour tune into your own intuition about how certain colours and shades make you feel. Does bright red excite you or drain you? Does navy blue make you feel secure or invisible? Choose a new colour to wear that reflects the energy you'd like to bring into your life. Popular colours to try this season are sage green, true green, mustard yellow, bright red, cobalt blue, lavender purple, dusty rose and chocolate. My whole life I hid in the spiritual closet, afraid of judgement. Worried what friends, family and the general public would think of me. Through a lot of self-development and healing I've been overcoming the fear of being called crazy. (Even though at times I actually thought I was going crazy).
The Internal Wardrobe | Love Yourself from the Inside Out
Alison Maiden | Psychic Medium Growing up I'd heard of people who were able to communicate with those in the spirit world and see into the future. This intrigued me and led me to love watching supernatural movies like Sixth Sense. One of my favourite TV shows was Medium. It was based on the real-life experiences of medium Allison DuBois, who worked with law enforcement agencies across the USA to assist in criminal investigations. Little did I know I would have the opportunity to meet and become good friends with an extremely talented Psychic Medium also named Alison, just like the one on TV! Alison Maiden is one of Australia’s leading Psychic Mediums and Spiritual Healers and recently joined me on the Internal Wardrobe for a chat. Donna Johnston | AstrologistAstrology has always been one of those things I was curious about but never really looked into it other than reading horoscopes, judging those who happen to be a Scorpio (My ex-husband’s star sign haha) and occasionally doing one of those star sign compatibility quizzes. It always seemed farfetched to think that the movement of the planets had anything to do with my life.
Recently I was in a room full of women and when asked the question, "Who here completely loves their body?" I was the only person to raise my hand.
Most women have a list of things they don't like or parts they think need changing. I’m too fat, too skinny, too tall, too short. I don’t like my arms, my legs, my nose, my boobs, my thighs, my wrinkles. Find yourself in the stillness.
Be still, place your hand on your chest. Can you feel the beat of your heart calling you home? If you’re willing, it’ll lead the way. The perfect people, places and situations will be provided for you. All that’s needed is your awareness. Many of life’s synchronicities pass by without acknowledgment. These coincidences are divine interventions, the silver linings that are only noticed through present moment awareness. Recently I stood on the scale for the first time in years, I was shocked at the number. To begin with I was really disappointed and depressed. Then I was motivated to become conscious of how I was treating my body.
Over the past few years I’ve definitely been ‘treating’ my body to all sorts of delicious food, good tasting wine and lots of time spent relaxing. This indulgent way of life had an implication on the fit of my clothing and how I felt when I looked into the mirror. |
